After a very long flight to Tokyo (which yielded some awesome aeriel photos), my friend and I finally landed at Narita International Airport in Tokyo, Japan.

We had a very short layover, so we decided to just hit the first restaurant-bar we could find.

Luckily for us, there was a cool little restaurant located near our departure gate in Terminal 2 called Blue Sky Miso Kitchen.

We were promptly seated at the only open table when a waitress quickly walked up and asked, “what size beer would you like? little or big?”. We both answered “big” in unison, then I chimed in, “with a sake on the side”.

I didn’t know it at the time, but “big” really meant “Oktoberfest-Stein big”.

Although not my favorite Japanese beer, Kirin is still always a solid choice for a straight lager.

We wasted no time slamming the beer and sake, and it was delicious. And just like that, we were off to make our next flight to Bangkok, Thailand.

The lesson? You might as well try real Japanese sake-bombs when in Japan. Highly recommended!

Cheers!
