Editor’s Note: This post is part of my Myanmar–Thailand trip to Asia. For more on this trip, check out my other posts on Myanmar, Thailand, and Japan.
Fresh off a somewhat average stay at Le Meridian Phuket Beach Resort, we took a short 1-hour flight aboard a Thai Airways 777 back to Bangkok for what would be the final night on our Myanmar–Thailand trip.
We of course wanted to go out big, so we decided on the St. Regis Bangkok for our last night.
Review: The St. Regis Bangkok (Bangkok, Thailand)
First, here’s a little overview about the St. Regis Bangkok from their website:
Location
Billed as having the “best address in Bangkok”, the St. Regis Bangkok is located in a posh sector of Bangkok along a “hotel row” that includes the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, the InterContinental Bangkok, and the Waldorf Astoria (among others).
Located directly across from the exclusive Royal Bangkok Sports Club and the Ratchadamri Station stop, the St. Regis Bangkok is just steps away from several high-end malls, multiple embassies, and numerous choices for fine dining.
Getting There By Train
Getting to the St. Regis Bangkok from BKK Airport by train is very easy, although it will require you to transfer lines twice (don’t worry, it’s easy). Even so, the entire journey from BKK will take you under an hour.
FHOP Tip: The good news is there is a dedicated sky-bridge to usher you directly from the Ratchadamri Station to the St. Regis Hotel. Fancy.
Getting There By Car
Of course you can also opt for a taxi or limousine transport, this will take you only 30 minutes from BKK Airport.
First Impressions And The First-Floor Lobby
Although unassuming from the exterior of the building, the “wow-factor” you have the from the moment you step inside the St. Regis Bangkok cannot be overstated.
In reading the reviews of this hotel on booking.com and tripadvisor.com, words such as “extraordinary”, “gorgeous”, “exquisite”, “luxurious”, “timeless”, etc., kept popping up – as did the phrase, “the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at”.
My initial thoughts of “review exaggeration” were quickly allayed. The St. Regis Bangkok was indeed all of the above adjectives and then some. The interior was simply beautiful, clean, and upscale.
The Check-In
Check-in required us to take the elevator up to the 12th floor to a dedicated reception desk.
Luckily for us, we were met with a wonderful staff member who couldn’t have been more welcoming, professional, and funny.
She provided us with delicious exotic-blue welcome drinks and thanked me for my Gold Status before handing me a Gold Status Welcome Letter and check-in package.

What Does Gold Status Get You At The St. Regis?
We got to talking a bit about travel and city life in Bangkok and she mentioned, believe it or not, there was a room upgrade available to me as a Gold Member. I was genuinely surprised.
Of course, upgrades were once commonplace at SPG, but now that the loyalty program has become Marriott Bonvoy, upgrades have been unheard of for me as a lowly Gold member.
She escorted us up to the door to our room, paused with a smile before opening the door and said, “you’re gonna like this…”.
She was pleased to show us we had gotten the “room with the view”. It was great.
She absolutely made our day with her genuinely friendly service.
The Double Grand Deluxe Room (Upgrade)
We got a room on one of the highest floors with a direct view of the grounds of the Royal Sports Club.

24-Hour Butler Service
Billed as a “timeless hallmark” of the St. Regis Bangkok, the 24-Hour Butler service was available to every guest of this resort.
The Pool
With its infinity pool and choice view of the grounds of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, the pool area was another stunning feature of this property.
Cocktails By The Pool
Of course, we planned our last day around the “cocktails by the pool” service, and we were not disappointed.
Sunset From The Pool
Beyond the cocktails, the pool was also the perfect place to catch the Bangkok sunset.
On-Property Dining
The St. Regis has a plethora of fine-dining options, including Viu, Jojo, among others.

The Bottom-Line Review: The St. Regis Bangkok (Bangkok, Thailand)
Simply put, I find myself agreeing with the many mass reviews online stating, “the St. Regis was the best hotel I’ve every stayed at”.
The hotel itself was the embodiment of luxury and hospitality and it was gorgeous. From the moment I stepped inside the property, I found the service to be absolutely top-notch at every level.
Incredibly, the St. Regis Bangkok starts at only around $180 USD a night, making this an amazing value and also my new go-to hotel in Bangkok.
I couldn’t recommend the St. Regis Bangkok any higher, a perfect 10 out of 10.
Cheers!
