The SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino
Las Vegas is once again on a hot streak. Heck, its once again peaking. There is no shortage of ‘new’, ‘ultra’, or ‘premium’ hotels to choose from – like the Aria, The Cosmopolitan, and Vdara. And yet, the SLS Las Vegas is quickly becoming my ‘go-to’ hotel for a hard weekend in Las Vegas.
A Starwood property, The SLS Las Vegas comes with the all the style, service and amenities you’d expect from SPG. Not only that, its one of the best ‘bang for your buck’ deals in Vegas – as rooms are often available for $100-$200 a night. Standing where the legendary Sahara Hotel once stood, the SLS marks the north end of ‘the strip’ and it contains the last-stop station for the Las Vegas Monorail.

The SLS pools are legit places to hang while the sun is blazing outside. There are cabanas galore, center bars, and DJ’s spinning.
The Restaurants
I’m not gonna lie, one of the best things about the SLS Las Vegas is the culinary options. The SLS just happens to contain three of my favorite restaurant chains: Umami Burger, Katsuya, and 800 Degrees Pizza. On top of that, the SLS Northside Cafe & Chinese Kitchen serves dim sum ’til 2am! And who hasn’t craved some steamed har gow in the middle of the night?
The Bottom Line:Â
The SLS is my current favorite spot when I’m out in Vegas. True, its low-key compared to some of the other hotels on the strip; but that’s a good thing. Theres no pretense. At its core the SLS Las Vegas is a cool, plush and posh Starwood resort for those in the know.
Highly Recommended.
Cheers!
