Nestled in the heart of West Hollywood’s Design District, the Kimpton La Peer Hotel opened its doors on February 27, 2018. The hotel boasts more than 8,000 square feet, with 105 guest rooms and suites, a courtyard pool, and a rooftop event space.

Booking/Redemption

Location & Parking

The hotel’s location in West Hollywoods’s exclusive Design District was ideal, tucked away on a quiet street in one of LA’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

The hotel offered valet parking for $65 overnight, which included in and out privileges (self-parking was not available).

FHOP Tip: I found plenty of (free) open parking meters during the weekend, which saved me $65…but be sure to read the signs.

Lobby

Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by a large, sophisticated lobby that felt like an artist friend’s cozy but consciously designed living room, with little nooks for reading and working and large-scale art pieces sprinkled throughout.

IHG Rewards Loyalty Program Benefits: Diamond Elite

As Diamond Elite members of the IHG Rewards Club we were given a daily free breakfast for 2 at Ladyhawk. Unfortunately, we did not receive a room upgrade from the 1 King Bedroom that we had booked.

Our 1 King Classic Bedroom was decorated in a modern/upscale style and featured a pillow-top bed with down comforters and Egyptian cotton sheets.

The rooms was large, clean, and well-lit. The room also had a well equipped minibar and a flat-screen TV and desk.

Breakfast

Because I had an early departure, I opted for breakfast “to go” at Ladyhawk. I went with the Smoked Salmon Sunrise (salmon lox bagel) – which was delicious, even out of a box.

The Bottom-Line Review: Kimpton La Peer Hotel (West Hollywood, California)

The hotel’s unique design, convenient location, and range of amenities contributed to a memorable stay. The dining options were delicious, and the facilities, including the pool and fitness center, were top-notch. However, the hotel’s treatment of Diamond Elite members (when the property was largely unoccupied) left something to be desired, as we did not receive the room upgrade we were hoping for. Despite this, the overall experience was positive and we would recommend the hotel to others (especially tourists and couples looking for a staycation).

Final Rating: 8.5 out of 10
