Location & Parking
The resort is located in Sedona, in the northern region of Arizona, 3.8 km from the famous Chapel of the Holy Cross. Itās perfectly centrally located, and situated close to a variety of recreational activities and popular points of interest.
The resort offers free self-parking.
FHOP Tip: Like our first stay, parking here was tight. Get there early to get a good spot, otherwise you may be in for a little trek (up and down a hill).
World Of Hyatt Loyalty Program Benefits
Because this is a Hyatt Vacation Club, most World of Hyatt benefits, even for Hyatt Globalist members, were non-existent [officially]. Notably, this included the waived resort fee benefit, meaning it cost us $25 per night.
The Previous Stay’s Upgrade
During our last stay, even through World of Hyatt benefits didn’t officially apply, we were given an amazing upgrade to a One Bedroom Suite (see the video below).
Sadly (for us), we did not get an upgrade during this 2nd stay. Granted, judging from the full parking lot, it is possible they were near fully booked.

Room Walkthrough Tour: Studio
During our second stay, we were given this Studio room (below).
Room Entrance
The studios at the resort are 350 square feet and feature one queen bed with a small sleeper sofa. Each studio is equipped with a kitchenette that includes a countertop-high fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, and flatware.
Our room was clean and decent sized, although I couldn’t help but lament that it was a huge step down from our previous stay’s One Bedroom Suite upgrade. This room did not come with its own Washer and Dryer combo.
In truth, if I hadn’t received the previous upgrade, I’d probably have been more impressed by this room and the kitchenette.

Gilcrest & Soames products were offered at this Hyatt Vacation Club. I find these products to be of OK quality.

Room Condition & Washing Machine Issue
The rooms dryer didn’t work, so we had to have a new one sent over.
Also, since we didn’t have an in-room washer and dryer this time, we had to use the communal machines. Which was fine – except that 1 of the 2 washing machines were broken, so it took us twice as long to do 3 loads of laundry and required a cold uphill trek in the dark to get there.

The resort offers a year-round outdoor pool, which is – understandably – quite popular.

FHOP Tip: What’s Nearby
For outdoor enthusiasts, there are many awesome hiking trails nearby. Sedona offers a variety of trails such as the Bell Rock Climb, Cathedral Rock, and Fay Canyon.
The Shops At Pinon Pointe
The resort is also basically adjoined to the Shops at PiƱon Pointe, which had some cool shops and great places to eat.
Breakfast At Wildflower
We opted to eat breakfast at the excellent and popular Wildflower Bread Company at Pinion Pointe. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Sound Bites Grill, nearby, offers a variety of dishes and has spectacular Red Rock views.
Chapel Of The Holy Cross
Tlaquepaque – Arts & Shoping Village
The resort is located walking distance to the popular Tlaquepaque, a recreated Mexican village that offers delicious dining, art galleries, and stores featuring local arts and crafts.
Oak Creek Brewery
The Oak Creek Brewery and Grill, located in Tlaquepaque, offers award-winning craft beer and a variety of bar comfort food.Ā We just ordered some beer and appetizers.

The Bottom-Line Review: Hyatt Vacation Club At Pinon Pointe, Sedona (Arizona)
On this, our second experience at this Hyatt property, we still really enjoyed our stay. I do really like this resort.
With that said, there were some notable “step downs” from our prior stay (no room upgrade this time, the broken hairdryer, and the broken washing machine), so I do have to ding them for that.
But even still, I would stay here again and I would easily recommend it to people visiting Sedona, especially if they are using using World of Hyatt points.
Final Rating [2nd Stay]: 8 out of 10
