Denver is a great American city. Luckily for me, I get to travel there often.
I usually prefer to stay on the west-side, but on my last trip out there I decided to mix it up a bit an stay downtown.
Review: Hyatt Regency Denver At Colorado Convention Center (Denver, CO)
About The Hyatt Regency Denver At Colorado Convention Center:
The Hyatt Regency Denver At Colorado Convention Center is centrally located in the Downtown area near the convention center and famed 16th Street Mall.
Here’s the “About” section direct from the official website:
Location:
The Hyatt Regency Denver At Colorado Convention Center is located right smack in the middle of Denver in the Central Business District of downtown.
If you are looking for the Rocky Mountains, you won’t find them here. Downtown Denver does however boast many attractions like Coors Field (home of the Rockies baseball team), the Museum of Contemporary Art, Larimer Square, Downtown Aquarium, and the modern hipster mecca known as Lodo.
Getting There:
From Denver International Airport (DEN) automobile transportation will take you about 45 minutes.
I decided to try the light-rail train, which I found to be quite pleasant and easy to use (believe it or not). The train from DEN airport to the Hyatt Regency took only about 1 hour, but did require a bus transfer for a short ride through downtown at the very end.
Parking:
Self-parking is available on site for $39 bucks a night. Wanna valet? That’ll set you back $52.
The Check-In:
I arrived quite late (as I’m known to do) so the large lobby was nearly completely empty, save for a lone desk attendant.
She was very nice, helpful, and quick.
She recognized and thanked me for my status, gave me 2 complementary water bottle and offered me an upgrade to a higher floor.
The Hotel Lobby:
The Bedroom:
As you might expect, the Hyatt Regency Denver At Colorado Convention Center is primarily a business hotel. Thus, the decor is very geared toward convention guests and road-warriors.
Still, the room was clean and appeared to be recently remodeled.
The Bathroom:
Unlike the bedroom, the bathroom seemed to have been largely passed over by the remodel.
The sink and shower/tub were really showing their age.
The Club Lounge:

The Bottom Line Review:Â Review: Hyatt Regency Denver At Colorado Convention Center (Denver, CO)
Business hotels are generally not the most exciting, luxurious, or interesting – but they’re not supposed to be. They’re supposed to comfortably accommodate large numbers of guests and provide all the necessities to those on the road.
In that sense, the Hyatt Regency Denver At Colorado Convention Center is a great choice for business travelers in a perfect location. Downtown Denver is a hot-spot and the Hyatt Regency is a smart and affordable choice, especially considering it’s a Hyatt Category 3 Hotel where point redemption can be had at a mere 12,000 points a night (although this might not get you the most bang for your Hyatt points).
Final Review: 7/10 Recommended (especially for business travelers, art lovers, sports fans, and museum goers).
