On my recent trip to Moab, I was sad to learn a hard truth: the secret was out. Moab is an awesome place.

It had been about 10 years since I had been there, and wow, has that town grown.

Nevertheless, with more people traveling there, more hotels inevitably build there. So you might as well embrace it, right? Yes -especially if you are a World of Hyatt member with points for a free night.

Location & Parking

The hotel is conveniently situated near many popular attractions, including Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Guests can enjoy easy access to hiking, biking, and off-road trails, as well as a variety of restaurants, shops, and galleries.

Sunset Grill, a popular (and pricey) steakhouse is perched on the hill behind the hotel.

The hotel offers free self-parking for all guests.

FHOP Tip: The parking lot is large and does have enough spaces for everybody – but you may have to walk a long way to the entrance. I recommend dropping off your heavy luggage items at the entrance before finding parking.

Lobby

The lobby area of the hotel is spacious and well-lit, with comfortable seating arrangements.

Breakfast & Other Dining Options

The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast buffet at The Breakfast Bar, which serves a wide array of choices from fresh fruit, yogurt, and granola, to eggs, hash browns, waffles, and more. If you’re familiar with Hyatt Place breakfasts, you’ll know exactly what to expect.

For dinner, guests can eat at the hotel or head to the nearby Sunset Grill, Thai Bella, or the popular Gilberto’s Mexican Taco Shop . The hotel also offers a “Late Night Bites” menu from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. for guests who want to grab a quick bite before bed.

FHOP Tip: What’s Nearby: There are plenty of things to do nearby the resort, including hiking, mountain biking, and off-road adventures. Guests can also explore the nearby Arches National Park, which boasts over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the famous Delicate Arch, which is the symbol of Utah. The park is just a 15-minute drive from the hotel, making it an ideal location for guests who want to explore the park at their own pace. Lions Park and Rotary Park are two of the most popular recreational areas in Moab.

The Bottom-Line Review: Hyatt Place Moab (Utah)

Hyatt Place Moab is a great choice for travelers looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Moab, especially if they are members of the World of Hyatt program. The hotel’s location is ideal for those who want to explore the nearby Arches National Park (you really can’t stay any closer unless you camp in the park) and Canyonlands National Park.

The 2 Double Bed Room is spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable beds, a flat-screen TV, and a mini-fridge. The hotel’s lobby area is spacious and well-lit and a legit comfortable place to hang out.

The hotel’s cleanliness is notable especially with the amount of foot traffic this property receives, and rooms and common areas are well-maintained. Overall, I would rate Hyatt Place Moab an 8 out of 10 for its comfortable rooms, convenient location, excellent service, and high standards of cleanliness.
