One of my favorite things about visiting the Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks (and the Sierras for that matter) is the chance to try out new beers from the Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co.
These local brews are usually readily available at the general stores and restaurants inside these Californian National Parks.
Years ago, my introduction to Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co. came by way of Half Dome California Wheat beer.
I recently bought a six pack – which begged the question – was this beer as good as I remembered?

About Half Dome California Wheat
This beer is brewed by the Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co. and is one of the brewery’s year-round staple brews.
A portion of purchases goes to one of the following organizations: Yosemite Conservancy, Sequoia Parks Foundation, or the High Sierra Volunteer Tail Crew.
Half Dome California Wheat Description
This beer poured a cloudy golden-orange color with a thin white head.
Although the carbonation was firm, but the drink itself was smooth.
The primary flavors of lemon and citrus wheat were accented with the fruity notes of sweet banana and spicy clove.

The Bottom-Line Review: Half Dome California Wheat (California)
Half Dome California Wheat was a great beer that was made for a hot summer day.
I drank this beer ice-cold in the afternoon over a pizza at an outdoor restaurant and after dark paired with dinner around a campfire. It went great in both settings.
The bottom-line was this was a quality, smooth drinking, craft brew. It’s one of those beers that should appeal to drinkers of lagers, IPA’s, and everything in-between.
Yes, it was as good as I remembered.
