Truth be told, I didn’t anticipate writing a review about the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
But here we are, and we are here because I had a couple of M Life comp nights to use up in Las Vegas at the Excalibur.
Review: Fresh By Stay Well Room – Excalibur Hotel Casino Las Vegas (NV)
Check-In
When I went to check-in at the hotel and cash in my comp nights, I struck up a conversation with the front desk attendant about the differences between rowdy football fans and the partygoers of the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC).
Turns out, our shade-throwing views pretty much aligned, and one thing led to another which led to me getting an unexpected room upgrade to a Fresh by Stay Well Resort Tower Two Queen room.
Room Key
I took a look at my room keys and they confirmed the upgrade with the Fresh by Stay Well logo and the words “Your wellness journey starts now” printed on the front.
Elevator
With my Wellness journey well underway, I entered the elevator to find elevator buttons for the 12th, 13th, and 14th floors were marked with the Fresh by Stay Well logo and a Fresh by Stay Well plaque.
Fresh By Stay Well Floor
As I exited the elevator on the 14th floor, I could see the Fresh by Stay Well sign on the wall by the elevators.

Hallway
Room Entrance
I found yet another Fresh by Stay Well plaque under my room number next to the door to my room.
Bedroom
This may be hard to believe, but I honestly couldn’t tell you if I’ve stayed at the Excalibur before. There were many drunken weekends where I definitely “could have,” but I have no way of confirming that either way.
Needless to say, it was apparent that the room itself was a little bit older, however it was still in pretty good condition.
Although the carpet seemed dated, the rest of the room seemed relatively modern and the beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. The walls in the room appeared to have a new paint job and new wallpaper and indeed new furniture.

Fresh By Stay Well Room Amenities
What distinguishes Fresh by Stay Well rooms from the “regular rooms” at MGM Resort are a few standout amenities and room protocols (according to the website).
The first Fresh by Stay Well item on the list was the Ascents aromatherapy machine that was conspicuously placed on the office desk. Yes, it smelled great, and it actually made a huge difference in the room.
The next item on the list was the Rabbit Air air purification system hanging on the wall near the bed (with the Stay Well logo on it). It too made a huge difference in the room, as the room felt like it had truly did have fresh air.
Over by the window, was a strategically-placed table that served both to cover up the air conditioner and also to allow it to circulate air properly. Strange, but I don’t think I’ve seen that before in Las Vegas.
Closet
View From The Room
Although we did not get a “strip view”, I was pleasantly surprised by the decent view from our room which was of the Excalibur’s swimming pool area.
Bathroom
The next item on the Fresh by Stay Well list was the cleaning protocol of the bathroom towels. This protocol entailed using UV light to clean the bathroom towels to ensure nearly all bacteria is effectively eliminated. this begs the question, “why isn’t this protocol featured in all hotel rooms in Las Vegas”?
The showerhead had the Fresh by Stay Well amenity, which was the orange-colored shower infuser which the website claims helps reduce chlorine in the water and keep hair soft.
Website Vs. Reality
Not one to “look a gift horse in the mouth”, as I was doing the research for this article I noticed that the Stay Well Resort Tower Two Queen room upgrade I was given did not look like the Stay Well Resort Tower Two Queen room on the website.
I’m not exactly sure why it looked so different, or what the material differences were, but I could tell right away the room and furniture I was given didn’t look as new as the room and furniture on the website.
According to the Excalibur Fresh by Stay Well website, the last Stay Well item is access to Cleveland Clinic Programming. There was no information on this feature given to us the front desk, and we didn’t find any information on this in the room, so we didn’t use this feature.
The Bottom-Line Review: Fresh By Stay Well Room – Excalibur Hotel Casino Las Vegas (NV)
I’ve stayed at a Stay Well room before at the Park MGM (which I much enjoyed), so I was semi-familiar with what to expect.
I do believe that Stay Well rooms make a huge difference, and I would always prefer to have one then to not have one (especially on a comp).
For that reason, notwithstanding the difference on the website, I was pleased with my comp at Excalibur and having stayed in a Fresh by Stay Well room, I can’t imagine not staying in one at Excalibur.
Dare I say, “a Fresh by Stay Well room would even be worth paying for”.
