I recently went to a friend’s house party in Westminster, California. Being the semi-responsible guy that I am, I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I would be in no condition for driving at the end of the night.
As such, I opted to for the closest points-earning hotel I could find at the last minute, the Best Western Westminster Inn.
Review: Best Western Westminster Inn
The Location
The Best Western Westminster Inn is located off the 405 freeway in Westminster, CA. It’s centrally located in Orange County and basically equidistant between Long Beach, Anaheim, and Huntington Beach (it’s about 1 hour from Los Angeles).
The Check-In
As I arrived extremely late into the morning, I wasn’t really expecting much. I found the property to be clean and safe, although I think I grabbed the very last available parking spot.
The hotel was small and completely booked-up, so my Best Western Diamond elite status wasn’t going to do much for me.
The Room
The room was very basic – but clean – and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The decor on the other-hand, was somewhat outdated.

Free Breakfast
One thing I really like about staying at Best Western hotels, it many of them have a free breakfast. This was true at this location as well.
I arrived to find a decent, if not standard, breakfast spread and a dining area packed with hotel guests.
Courtyard & Pool
This property had a very apartment-like feel, in a good way. The pool and jacuzzi area was quaint, and surrounded by barbecues, picnic tables, and even a ping-pong table.
Putting Range
Lastly, there was a mini-putting range with free clubs that you could use near the pool area. This hotel really had a nice laid-back apartment-like vibe to it.
Final Thoughts:Â Best Western Westminster Inn
The Best Western Westminster Inn is not a destination hotel, that’s for sure. But it is a great hotel to use if you are visiting friends or family, or if you just need a chill and relaxing place to crash for the night when down in O.C.
I could also see it as an affordable family spot for the weekend where you can just hang out, swim, and BBQ with the family. But it is a bit far from Disneyland.
Cheers!
