Are you sick and tired of being hounded by paparazzi? Are you frustrated with constantly having to take selfies with the riff-raff at the airport instead of chillin’ in your own private suite? Are you constantly asking yourself, “why can’t I have a dedicated TSA security line for just me and my posse”? Well my friend, you are in luck. Meet The Private Suite.
The Private Suite:
The Private Suite is the new private terminal that will serve wealthy and celebrity customers at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Developed by security consulting firm, Gavin de Becker & Associates, The Private Suite aims to provide privacy, security, and comfort to its clients.
Hailed as the first terminal of it’s kind in the US, the $22 million dollar private facility at the publicly owned and operated airport will come at no cost to tax payers. In fact, it’s projected to generate $35 million in revenue for Los Angeles World Airports over the next nine years.
How It Works:
What’s Included: The Arrival
A dedicated gate provides entrance into the LAX area where you can be dropped off directly at The Private Suite terminal.
What’s Included: The Suites
After you are dropped off, you and your travel companions are escorted to your suite which includes assorted snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages.
What’s Included: Eight Staff Members
Throughout your stay, you be be assigned eight dedicated staff members to make your stay more comfortable and cater to your whims, I mean ‘special service requests’.
What’s Included: TSA Screening
When its time to depart, you will be escorted through security by way of your own dedicated TSA screening area.
What’s Included: The Departure
After the private TSA screening, you will be picked up from your suite in a BMW 7 Series and driven across the LAX tarmac to board your flight.

The Bottom Line:
Although I like to poke fun at this idea, it actually makes a lot of sense in a city like Los Angeles. Though this is the first terminal of this kind in the US, you can bet it won’t be the last. It’s a win/win public and private venture that will remove a lot of the security risk of having high profile people being chased around with cameras at LAX (sorry TMZ!).
Although, I’m thinking you could really get the same thing if you booked a suite at any hotel on Century Blvd., inhaled all the food and drinks in your mini-bar, took an Uber directly to your terminal, and then used your TSA Pre-check to fly through security — and that would probably cost you only $700!
Oh well, that’s just the musing of a riff-raff like me.
Cheers!
