Say it ain’t so Chase, say it ain’t so.
I’m not gonna lie, this one really hurts.
One of my favorite travel hacks in the world of travel-hacking appears to have been devalued so much that it’s almost unrecognizable/unusable. Almost.
About The Chase Luxury Hotels & Resorts (LHRC) Program
As a quick refresher, Chase Luxury Hotels & Resorts Collection (LHRC) is a program accessed through several high-end Chase credit cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve and the Chase Ritz-Carlton cards.
It’s similar to the American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) program and provides simliar benefits.
Both LHRC and FHR have long provided an amazing travel hack – especially for Las Vegas. In fact, I’ve had several stays where they paid me to stay and dine there!
Massive Chase Luxury Hotels & Resorts (LHRC) Devaluation At All Las Vegas M Life Hotels
As I was perusing the Chase Luxury Hotels & Resorts Collection (LHRC) website last night, I discovered a major devaluation that seems to be across the board at all Las Vegas area M Life Hotels (MGM resorts).
It looks like the long-standard LHRC $100 food and beverage credit per day has been slashed to as low as $30 per room per day (a 70% devaluation).
To make matters even worse, it seems the long-standard LHRC $30 per person per day breakfast credit has been slashed to $15 per person per day (a 50% devaluation).
Note: The benefits of the LHRC program have long paralleled the Fine Hotels & Resorts program from American Express. The meant that the benefits of the two programs were often identical at the same hotel.
Let’s take a look at what the devaluation looks like at some of my favorite LHRC participating properties.
Bellagio
The $100 food and beverage credit now becomes a $40 food and beverage credit.
The $30 per person per day credit now becomes $15 per person per day credit.
Delano Las Vegas At Mandalay Bay
The $100 food and beverage credit now becomes a $40 food and beverage credit.
The $30 per person per day credit now becomes $15 per person per day credit.
NoMad Las Vegas
The $100 food and beverage credit now becomes a $30 food and beverage credit.
The $35 per person per day credit now becomes $15 per person per day credit.

Non-M Life Hotels Feeling The LHRC Pinch As Well
Even some non-MGM Resort properties seem to be showing a devaluation of sorts as well.
Take Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas.
The special benefit credit – formerly a LHRC $125 property credit – is now a $125 spa services credit.
Note: Amex’s FHR program still offers a $125 property credit
All Is Not Lost – Yet
This all brings me back to the American Express FHR program (which is accessed by the American Express Platinum Card).
For now, it appears the standard FHR $100 food and beverage credit is still available at all M Life hotels in Las Vegas (see below) .
The question is, “for how long?”
Bellagio FHR Credit
Delano FHR Credit
NoMad Las Vegas FHR Credit
The Bottom-Line: Massive Chase Luxury Hotels & Resorts (LHRC) Devaluation At All Las Vegas M Life Hotels
For someone [like me] who frequently travels to Las Vegas and utilizes the benefits of the LHRC program, news of a devaluation of this magnitude is soul-crushing.
However, if there is any silver lining here, it’s that the American Express FHR program seems to have left the historic Las Vegas M Life resorts benefits intact.
But as we all know, in this industry, when one company figures out it can devalue something (and get away with it), others are sure to follow.
Until that happens, it looks like my trusty American Express Platinum is going to be my go-to card for hotel bookings in Las Vegas.

Saw the same thing last week. We were stealing from them for the past two years, can’t blame them. WIsh it wasn’t true, but I totally understand.
