It’s no secret that Las Vegas has some of the best (and most famous) restaurants in the world.
Any chef who’s anybody has their own signature restaurant on “the strip”.
But what you may not know is that Vegas also has some great, innovative, and affordable eateries that aren’t found on the strip. Getting to some of these “hidden gems” requires venturing out – sometimes way out – off the strip.
Here are 4 of my own personal-favorite “off the strip” restaurants (in no particular order).

Locals Only! 4 Great “Off The Strip” Restaurants That Only Locals Know About (Las Vegas, Nevada)
Editor’s Note: This review is part of my ongoing travel series on Las Vegas. Click here for more reviews on Las Vegas Hotels and more on Hiking Las Vegas.
#1: Yanni’s Greek Grill
Located in a strip-mall on Las Vegas’s Southside, this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant has some of the best Greek food outside of Greece.
But don’t take my word for it, check out their reviews on Yelp.
I usually go for the Gyros and the crispy feta fries, but really everything is tasty (and affordable).
INFO: Yanni’s Greek Grill, 9620 S Las Vegas Blvd., Ste E-7, Las Vegas, NV 89123
#2: The Oyster Bar
Long a staple of the “party-til-dawn” set, The Oyster bar is the perfect cure for even the worst hangovers.
Known for its Pan Roasts and Gumbos, The Oyster Bar specializes in New Orleans-style soul food with a seafood twist.
Although this joint is open 24-7, the only way to eat there is to vie for a coveted seat by waiting in line (which can be as long as 2 hours on a weekend morning), as they do not do phone or internet takeout orders.
It’s totally worth it though, just make sure to order some extra Pan Roasts to-go.

#3: Sushi House Goyemon Las Vegas
Sushi House Goyemon is one of Las Vegas’s best kept secrets. On weekend nights, you’ll likely find it packed with locals waiting outside to get in.
This restaurant is popular due to its excellent sushi, friendly staff, and its [incredibly] affordable price for all-you-can-eat sushi (just $26.95!).
They take reservations, so be sure to call ahead.
INFO: Sushi House Goyemon Las Vegas, 5255 s Decature Blvd., Suite 118-119, Las Vegas, NV, 89118
#4: Buldogis Gourmet Hot Dogs
I discovered Buldogis by chance when I was coming back from hiking a trail in Red Rock Canyon.
This Korean cuisine-influenced hotdog joint specializes in gourmet fusion hotdogs like the Angry Kimchi Dog, The Bulgogi Dog, and the Gang Nam dog.
If gourmet/fusion is not your thing, no problem – they have all the “classic” hotdogs as well.
INFO: Buldogis Gourmet Hot Dogs, 2291 S. Fort Apache Rd. #102, Las Vegas, NV 89117
Locals Only! 4 Great “Off The Strip” Restaurants That Only Locals Know About (Las Vegas, Nevada)
As tourists, it’s sometimes easy to forget that Las Vegas is much more than just the strip.
This is a reminder that there are plenty of great “hidden gem” restaurants in Vegas just waiting to be discovered [by tourists].
Don’t let the locals have all the fun. Do yourself a favor, get off the strip and check some of ’em out.
