Well, it was rumored this was coming, but this morning I received the official email confirmation from Priority Pass and the American Express Global Lounge Collection.
American Express To End Non-Lounge Access On Their Priority Pass Memberships Beginning August 1, 2019
That’s right, Priority Pass is removing all non-lounge access from Priority Pass Memberships issued through American Express’ Global Lounge Collection.

The Bottom-Line: American Express To End Non-Lounge Access On Their Priority Pass Memberships Beginning August 1, 2019
As far as I’m concerend, this is a major devaluation to an important American Express Global Lounge Collection benefit. I have used these non-lounge benefits frequently at great spots like the Timberline Steaks & Grille in Denver, and P.F. Chang’s and Rock & Brews in Los Angeles.
Before you go blaming Priority Pass for this [major devaluation], you should know this move almost certainly came from American Express.
Why? Because as of now, non-lounge access is still available for non-American Express Priority Pass memberships like those issued direct through Priority Pass, as well as memberships issued through Chase and Citi Bank.
Between this devaluation of the American Express Platinum Cards and Citi removing most benefits from their Citi Prestige, the Chase Sapphire Reserve really is looking better and better every day.
