The World Of Hyatt Redemption
This Hyatt Regency is a Category 3 Hyatt property, redeemable for 12,000 points.
On the night I stayed there, the price of a 2 Queen Bed Room went for $449.35 USD.
This meant my World of Hyatt Redemption was 3.74 CPP (excellent for a Hyatt redemption).
The Lobby

The hotel had a very large lobby and front desk.
I checked-in using the dedicated line for World of Hyatt members (without a wait).
I was greeted and recognized for my status and told I’d be given an upgrade (which was only a move to a higher floor).
The front desk staff handed me some informational documents about the property, explained some of the items and locations of the restaurants, and then handed me my room key with information about the Regency Club printed on the back of the sleeve (see below).

The 2 Queen Bed Room
No, your eyes do not deceive you, this room is dark (and the decor is also dark).
With that said, it was also a clean, sleek and stylish look accented by black leather, dark woods, and stainless steel.

The dark theme of the room was continued in the bathroom.
Although there was sufficient back-lit lighting, this was one of the darker bathrooms I’ve ever seen.
The Hyatt Regency La Jolla At Aventine used the premium Pharmacopia Natural Bodycare line of toiletry products.

Hotel Information
Parking at the Hyatt Regency came with a hefty price tag, $40 for valet and $30 for self-parking.
There was also a $250 fee for smoking in your room and quiet hours were from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am.
The Regency Club
I chose to cash in one of my Club Access Award passes at this property’s Regency Club (located on the 16th floor) for the complimentary breakfast and hors d’oeuvres hour.

The Bottom-Line Review: Hyatt Regency La Jolla At Aventine (San Diego, CA)
Overall, I was impressed with the Hyatt Regency La Jolla At Aventine, although there were some negatives [that you should know about before you go].
The positives were a nice Regency Club, its location [within greater San Diego], and the fact that this hotel felt far more upscale than it actually was.
The negatives for this hotel were the high nightly parking fees (and tight parking spaces for that matter), the location [which was still about a 20 minute+ drive to La Jolla Cove], and its isolated “island-like” location (surrounded by a corporate park and freeways).
Final Review: 7.75/10 – The Hyatt Regency La Jolla At Aventine is classy hotel with a Club Lounge; as a Category 3 hotel, its a steal for 12,000 points.
